“Veda” is one such excellent manuscript in world literature, which has played an
important role in imparting cultural as well as religious civility to the world.
It has helped mankind to climb the summit of civility and culture. The “Vedanga”
are six auxiliary disciplines traditionally associated with the study and understanding
of the “Veda”. They are viz. shiksha (phonetics and phonology – ‘sandhi’), kalpa
(ritual), vyakrana (grammar), Nirukta (etymology), chandas (meter) and jyotisha
(astrology).
Bhaskaracharya in his famous work “Siddhanta Shiromani” wrote that jyotisha (astrology)
is the most important of the six Vedanga’s as it provides an insight to “Veda”.
Astrological science is consists of three main categories viz. Siddhanta jyotish,
Samhita jyotish (astronomical, mathematical or geographical astrology), Phalita
jyotish (predictive astrology).
Phalita jyotish is also known as Jatakashastra (natal or genethliacal astrology).
This system of astrology can be used to predict future events in a person’s life
by constructing his horoscope (natal chart). Our aim in creating this website is
to connect common Indians with Phalita jyotish and to help them accordingly.
